Welcome to Alchemy Systems. This is a shell program that allows you to run the Demo Programs and to read the Text file instructions. Use the cursor control keys to scroll these instructions. The upper menu is accessed by pressing the F10 function key. Once you get to the upper menu, Press the enter key. Use the cursor keys ie the Arrow Keys to move to the various selections. The Demos are run from the sub-menu under the menu heading DEMO. The Text files are accessed by going to the INSTRUCTION menu and activating the Open file portion of the sub menu. The F1 function key will bring up context sensitive help through out this Demo shell program. Move the cursor or Tab to the colored word in this help screen and press enter to bring up help on these items. It is recommend that you use the file viewer under the Instructions Menu Item to read the basic instructions for the Mixer, Gasmixer and Network programs.

Press enter to examine the Demos for the Mixer GasMixer and Pipe Network programs. The press the down arrows to select the Demo you wish to review, followed by the enter key. !

File viewer
( ESC key = Quit )
A file viewer views the contents of a text file. You can use the arrow keys to move about in the file. A file is loaded via the File
Open menu item.
Up Move up one line
Down Move down one line
Right Move right one column
Left Move left one column
PgUp Move one page up
PgDn Move one page down
Home View right most column of the file
End View left most column of the file
Ctrl-PgUp View top of file
Ctrl-PgDn View bottom of file.

Mixer

Press the Enter key to run the Mixer Demo.
Once the Mixer demo is running you should first type the Letter L on the menu screen followed by pressing the enter key. This will bring up a selection screen of example problem to examine. Select the file to load by using the arrow keys to move the cursor over the file and then press the enter key. Once the file is loaded then you can select the other menu options. Enter V to examine the vessel sizing screen, or A to examine the Agitator results. You leave a screen by pressing the A key (for Accept). This will return you to the main menu. You exit the mixer program by holding down the Alt key and then pressing the Q key. This will return you to this Demo shell program. Read the Text File called Mixer.Txt in the instructions to understand this program.
GasMixer

Press the Enter key to run the Gasmixer Demo.
Once the Gas Mixer demo is running you should first type the number 6 on the menu screen followed by pressing the enter key. This will bring up an example problem to examine. Select the file to load by using the arrow keys to move the cursor over the file and then press the enter key. Once the file is loaded then you can select the other menu options Enter 1 to examine the vessel sizing screen, or 4 to examine the Agitator results. You leave a screen by pressing the A key (for Accept). This will return you to the main menu. You exit the mixer program by holding down the Alt key and then pressing the Q key. This will return you to this Demo shell program.
Pipe Network

Press the enter key to run the Pipe Network Demo.
Once the network menu is on you should press the F1 key for help instuctions. Press the F9 key followed by the F2 key to load an example problem. You must read the instructions file called Network.Txt to understand this program. The Demo will allow you to solve a simple network of your own design with 7 or less pipes. The network program can solve complex pipe systems with thousand of pipes for both liquid and gas systems. It is sold with additional programs that solve single pipe problems for liquid, gas, and two phase flow.

The File menu offers choices for opening files, changing directories, and exiting the program. Use it to read the Demo Instructions

File Open (F3)

The Open command displays the Open a File dialog box. In this dialog box you select the text file you want browse in a file
viewer. Press Enter then Use the Arrow Keys to Select The File to Read. Then Press Enter Again.

The Exit command terminates this program. Press ESC twice to close this screen and to NOT exit.
Single Phase Pipe Sizing Program

Press Enter to run the Single Phase Line Sizing Program. The Flow Rate is Fixed at 100 GPM on the Demo, but you can change other values, such as the Pipe Schedule etc. b
The is insufficient Room on this disk for the Two Phase Flow or the Adiabatic Gas Flow program.
Two Phase Pipe Sizing Program

This program is not on the disk due to lack of space. It performs Two Phase Flow Pipe pressure drop calculations using Lockhard Martinelli and Baker correlations.
Adiabatic Flow of Gas Pipe Sizing Program
( ESC key = Quit )
This program is not on the disk due to lack of space. It performs accurate Gas Pressure Drop calculations for both isothermal and Adiabatic Flow. Accurate for High Pressure Drop Problems.
Help on Open a File Dialog Box
( ESC key = Quit )
The Open a File dialog box contains an input box, a file list, a file information panel, the standard button Cancel, one other action button Open:, plus a history list that's attached to the inputbox. Press Enter at the *.TXT Prompt. Use Arrow Keys to Select the File to Read Then Press Enter and the View will come on. Remember to Press Alt-F3 to Exit the File View and Return.
Shaft Rating Program

This program is not on the disk due to lack of space. It performs calculations for the mixer shaft critical speed From user input values of agitator weights, Power Etc. This program is for use by mixing professionals and mechanical engineers.
